![]() That window is accessible through the “Advanced” button where you would normally set a static IP address. It turns out, Windows 7 (and I assume Vista) will do this when there is no Default Gateway set up on the network. For Hamachi, this can be set to the same address as their DHCP server: 5.0.0.1. To avoid having to manually enter an address, this should be entered separately in the Advanced TCP / IP settings window: The green indicates a direct connection and NOT a relay. If done right, you will see the green connection icon (instead of the blue). ![]() Then configure your port-forward to those ports on the Hamachi gateway. If your security policy requires you to specify explicit domain or IP ranges, then configure your firewall exceptions for outbound TCP ports 8200, 443, and 80 as well as UDP ports 82 for the GoTo domains or IP ranges, including those of our third-party provider networks.Recently ran into an issue with Hamachi / Windows 7 where I couldn’t set the Network Type for the Hamachi connection.  I use Windows Firewall, and wanted to specify the Hamachi network as “Home.” However, the normal option to change network type wasn’t there in Network and Sharing Center. It just said “Unidentified Network” with blank space underneath: I recommend using the static UDP listening port and TCP handshake port. To address this problem, verify that the domains or IP ranges will not be scanned or filtered by specifying exception domains or IP ranges. If your firewall includes a content or application data scanning filter, this may cause a block or latency, which would be indicated in the log files for the filter. Ensure LogMeIn Hamachi is set to a Trusted application. Maintenance and failover events within our infrastructure may cause you to connect to servers within any of the ranges. Double check under your Kaspersky > Settings > Firewall > Networks. These changes are necessary to continue to provide the maximum performance for our GoTo products. In Windows Firewall, on the left side of the window, click Advanced. If this scenario is applicable, one quick fix around this issue is to add Hamachi to the list of excluded Firewall items. In Windows, go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall. Use of IP ranges instead of domain names for the firewall configuration is discouraged unless absolutely necessary because our IP ranges and those of our provider networks need to be periodically audited and modified, creating additional maintenance for your network. Step 1: Create a Logmein Account and Create a Network First, create a account if you haven't already, and from there, create a network. Hamachi is being blocked by Windows Firewall Another common scenario in which this error occurs is when LogMeIn Hamachi is ending up being blocked by your Windows Firewall. ![]() Been using it for a few years, havent looked back. 1) Check if your Windows Personal Firewall setting blocks connections from Hamachis 5.x.x.x IP address ranges. Check out zerotier, i believe it does the same functions and its still free. Just mentioning, I used to use hamachi but over time, support kinda dropped off (and i dislike logmein). Also, the client-to-host connection uses peer-to-peer connections, encrypted within an HTTPS tunnel where data is encrypted with AES-256 symmetric cipher. You might find need to whitelist the application in the web and email protection. It is recommended to use wildcard rules whenever possible while allowlisting or blocking any GoTo services on your network as sub-domains of the domains listed above are included.
